Breaking down Popcaan 'Forever'- My Top 5

Its been 4 years since the release of Popcann first album with Mixpak records. I feel like I have been waiting forever but one thing I love about Dancehall is that artist consistently dropping tracks. Feels like we've been getting a new track from Shenssea weekly (more more more).

With the rise of Dancehall influence on the mainstream, I love how Mixpak has almost created a there own Dancehall sound that's so distinct to it label. Majority of the album was produced by Dre Skull as well as some production from Notnice and Markus Records. 17 tracks with bubbly riddims and melodic melodies come together to create FOREVER. With 17 new tracks it was hard to pick just 5 but here are my top 5 from the album.

This song speaks volumes! You really can't trust everyone not even family sometimes. This is not a bubbling "Skin out your pumpum" type of tune but a tune to make you think. Surround yourself with real people there's a whole load of frauds out there.

This another Happy vibe tune. The song ALMOST makes me want to buy some Louis. Great vibe great song. Lyrically it's not crazy but as always clever lines here and there. Super catchy as well. Peanut shell! haha

I love this song because its a completely different vibe from Popcaan. This song is simple yet a song that if my future husband or boyfriend ever fights with me and want to make me smile and apologies play this I will melt. This song is really an appreciation to a woman who loves you no matter what but You know you've done some wrong (or maybe she has) but through the storm, you push through and are there for each other. BEAUTIFUL.

Over all this 17 track album is purely  Popcaan and a celebration of Life and Beautiful women. With only 1 feature from Davido on Dun Rich this is a great body of work from one of the Best Dancehall artist of this generation. I'm excited to see some visuals for the tracks and hear more from Mixpak as a label. Make sure you check out the Album on all Streaming platforms.

 I love this song!  its not a crazy "bruck out inna head top" type song but its still a vibe, maybe bust a fling?.  It reminds me of the Happy time riddim that came out a few summers ago, not they sound similar but it gives me the same feeling. This song is basically Popcaan saying he's a superstar everyone knows he is and have been knowing since he was young. This the kind of song you would be singing in a party and all your friends popping your collar (haha so many times this has happened to me no lie)

This song touched my soul! I've been had a pretty rough year mentally especially dealing with postpartum and just naturally feeling super alone in my situation but luckily I had some dope friends and this song now my motivation to keep going and stay positive. I suggest any women feeling down and feeling like your not worthy Popcaan is here to let you know your Strong and someone out there loves and supports you.KEEP GOING LADIES WE GOT THIS!
